[MSP] Crema Cafe has food, too?

I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for Crema Cafe's food (if you can tear yourself away from the ice cream). I read the glowing review in the City Pages, but I wanted to get some chowhound opinions.

  1. I wrote about Crema in my April monthly review. In short, I loved the food! My boyfriend wasn't much of a fan, however. He thought the pasta dish was too oily (we had the organic chicken panini and bugatoni bolognaise) but I enjoyed it.
Give it a try and tell us what you think! I'd love to go back and try their pizzas.

    1. I grabbed a quick lunch there last week. My first visit. I had the 3-cheese grilled cheese sandwich. I liked it. It wasn't overly greasy, and cheese tasted of nice quality. I'd probably call it the 2nd best grilled cheese I've ever had (after Surdyk's...which they seem not to be making any longer :>(

A nice mixed greens salad accompanied the sandwich. Oh, and the server (the only one in the place at 11 am) was super friendly and solicitous.

      1. Thanks for the responses! I will make the trip soon and let you know how it goes!

I just moved from uptown less than a year ago, but frequented crema not only for the ice cream, but for their breakfast. Some of the best I've had. I'm not sure if they have changed menus, but the poached egg on a baguette with spinach and of my favorites. And I could never pass up the blood orange sorbet when I was out hitting the yard sales.
