Lolabar in Leslieville

I was driving down Carlaw this afternoon and noticed a new place called "Lolabar" on the southwest corner of Dundas.

Has anyone been? Would love to hear more about this place. Looks like it has a big patio!!

I live in the building. I believe it's been remade as a cocktail bar to more success than the previous restaurants. Gets good reviews for its drinks. The owner has recently done a lot of work to the patio to make it more appealing.

Hubby and I went this past summer. Really wanted to like the place, but the pizza we ordered was obviously of the frozen variety and the juice in hubby's drink was off.

Haven't been yet but will definitely check it out soon for drinks, from the pics on Toronto.com (they were profiled recently) it looks pretty nice inside. The patio is one of the biggest in the area and it seems like it gets some prime early evening sunshine.

Used to be another place with another name (Verdec). Don't know if that spot is cursed, but it would be cool if more people would hang out - I can throw a stone to my house! I'm going tonight to check 'er out.

We seriously need some good bars in the hood and I would love to have a local. Tasty Chicken anyone?!

Problem is that, despite the hundreds of people now living and working on that block, there is still no pedestrian traffic. It has been, variously, a couple of bars, a serious restaurant, a burger place, a (legit) massage clinic, and a couple of other things in just a few years. It isn't so much cursed as unknown and essentially invisible.
