Costco- fresh ground beef burger patties good? [moved from General Chowhounding Topics]

Good morning,

I'm planning on doing some BBQing this weekend and was told that Costco's fresh ground beef burger patties are very good. Has anyone tried them? They are sold in the fresh meat case along with the fresh striploins, tenderloins, ribeyes, top sirloins, et al.

Hi! Are you talking about the BIG, thick ones with the indentation in the middle? They are very good and always very fresh. They're always a hit at our cookouts but you do have to like really thick burgers. . .my husband does not like them for this reason, he prefers a thinner hamburger but he's weird. I recommend them! Enjoy!

You know what was good at Costco was the angus burgers with blue cheese. They had it as a sample. I don't know if they were frozen but they weren't from the butcher section.

they are great, my husband also thinks they are too thick. Usually there are lines of people waiting for them on a busy day. Very fresh
