senior menu

the girlfriend is turning 55 and wants to go out and order from the senior (over 55) menu. any recs?

Denny's is 55.

I'm at one of those ages where it could go either way -- anywhere from 55-65, depending on how unkempt I appear. Nothing wrong with asking "How old do you have to be to qualify as a senior"?

Or, if the server is young enough, order off the senior menu anyway -- anybody over 35 looks "old" to those people. The absolute worst they could do is ask for ID, which they probably won't. And if they bust you, just say you didn't realize that "senior" means THAT old.

Sizzlers is 60 for sure.
Not sure but most are 60 or 65 but occasionally I do see 55.

I will say, at Yosemite and a lot of tourist places, they will definitely ask for ID to confirm your age, but I can't say about restaurants like Dennys since I don't eat there.

55 is by no means senior. Many places that do provide senior options start at age 60 or 65..like Souplantation or Coco's.

For some reason, I thought Sizzler, Cocos, etc. were 55 and up. I remember going with my parents, and they both qualified for the senior menu. I'm not sure though as it has been a while. My parents ordered off the regular menu anyway. :)

Here's another one for you-- Carrows. The last time I went, I was the only person younger than 55. :)

Also, I think Conrad's in Pasadena has a senior menu. How about the Lamplighter restaurant in the San Fernando Valley?

dinah's is a good idea. I don't remember the senior menu, but we'll try that.

Dinah's Senior menu is on the back of their main menu (I think!) kind of near the kids menu area!!!
