Please Help Me Find This Almond Cookies Recipe - I Am Desperate!

I recently have been introduced to almond brittle type of cookie and am now addicted to it. It’s a brown color, thin cookie with lots of thin sliced almond on top. It tastes like a cookie – very thin, very crunchy but not at all greasy or sweet. The cookie has smooth texture, not like a lace cookie. I went through all of my cookbooks to see if I can find something similar. I tried to imitate those using Tuile and Brittle recipes but they turned out way to greasy and kind of too hard. I would really love to make this at home instead of going to the bakery all the time. I found them at a Taiwanese style bakery here in L.A. called JJ bakery. I am posting a picture of them here. Does anybody have any recipes that might fit this description? Thank you!

  1. I think that looks more like a candy than a cookie. Maybe an almond brickle that was dropped in spoonfulls instead of making it flat and breaking it apart. Have you looked at any chinese recipe sites? Maybe they could help.

I am not familiar with the chinese recipe sites? Any suggestions where I should start?

Just go to google and put in the search "cooking chinese food" or taiwanese food. Also, if you have the time, go to a bookstore a peruse the asian recipe books. Maybe it is called a specific name and you don't know what it is. Maybe you could ask the people at the bakery.

    2. Found this recipe, may be worth trying. Just leave out the coconuts and sub almonds for the macs.

      1. maybe this might be what you are looking for...
