Hudson super Buffet or the new Super Buffet in Marlboro?

I have read positive comments on the board about the Hudson Super Buffet. Has anyone tried the new one in Marlboro, and if so how do the two compare?

They are both owned and run by the same people. I have not been to Marlboro but know people who have. Esentially its the same thing in a different building but at dinner the Marlboro location has a larger sushi bar and a grill station.

I have been to the Hudson one only once since Marlboro opened and it seems to have fallen down hill quite a bit. My parents who went to Marlboro during that same time frame didnt think it was very good either and they used to go to Hudson every week just about.

So hopefully it was a startup issue running the 2 and not that they spread themselves too thin.

I am going to try the new Marlboro location Sat. night. Hope it is good. It is located on route 20 in the same plaza as Staples.

we went to the one in Marlboro last night. It was alright, not great. Highlight was the fresh King crab legs.(the butter tasted like the cheap stuff you have on cinema popcorn) the sushi was adequate. They need to have two sushi chefs, cuz the rate at which people grab at the sushi, and the time it takes the chef to make a platter is not well managed. Very often, the sushi station was empty.

Found some interesting seafood concoctions (a "pie" made of wanton and seafood medly), stuffed clams were OK.

Most of what I had was just OK, not too tasty. Stay away from the crab rangoon if you are expecting good rangoon. I was hoping the chinese string beans would be delicious, but I found them to be bland. I did not try a lot, as I stuck to the sushi and crab legs...People were scooping up truckloads onto their plate....? all you can eat for $12.00.
Would I go again? Maybe in a year or two.

When i have been to the hudson one in the past i usually get mostly crab legs and shrimp dishes. The typical chinese dishes are not all that great i have found. Some of the dumplings are ok. As I said, last time i went the whole place seemed to have gone downhill quite a bit.

We went to the Marlboro one tonight. Wasnt bad some hits, some missed. They had some weird scallop/corn au gratin thing that was awful. I had alot of the snow crab legs, very good, i dont use butter so cant comment on that.

At the grill station they had shrimp on skewers with lemon wedges and peppers, very tasty. Also tried the chicken skewers on the grill, not bad.

It wasnt very busy so the sushi area was constantly full as were the peel/eat shrimp, oysters/clams on the 1/2 shell and crab legs.
