Romantic Lunch in Cambridge

My husband & I are going down to Cambridge to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary on Saturday. Any suggestions on romantic lunch places?

Surprisingly, answering this question is a challenge. Some of the places that came to mind don't serve lunch.

A place that does serve lunch and can be classified as "romantic" is Sandrine's in Harvard Square -- it's cozy, it's French.

I'll be interested to see what others come up with.

Om, perhaps, in the lounge if they serve lunch there: http://www.omrestaurant.com/info.php or The Monday Club at Upstairs on the Sq: http://www.upstairsonthesquare.com/ab...

I'd suggest O Cantinho in Inman Square - a cute little Portugeuse restaurant that is quiet and romantic I feel. Not particularly fancy, but I think its hidden gem quality also lends itself well.

Sandrine's is a good suggestion, too.

Casablanca in Harvard Square also comes to mind.

I agree with the Casa-b recommendation... those wicker basket seats are a Cambridge classic! Sometimes you'll see elderly couples eating together seated in them reminiscing about their first date there during their college years at Radcliffe/Harvard. Also the lunch menu is nice. Harvest is another nice choice. I'm steering clear of Om... recently had a bad experience at Om's bar- two drunk frat-type guys loud and vulgar and bugging everyone... and the waitstaff waited for far too long to kick them out. The kind of thing that could ruin someone's romantic lunch or dinner. Does Central Kitchen do lunch?

It has been a while and I am not sure if it is technically in Somerville or Cambridge but my erstwhile boyfrend and I loved the Casa Portugal some years ago. Very romanic, European, family run and the sort of place that has that slightly "illicit" feel.

Casa Portugal is in Cambridge just past Inman.

What do you mean by illicit?

We used to go to Harvest, the 'old' Harvest for lunch on Saturdays in the square and try to sit in the garden or the bar, never the dining room. I haven't heard anything about the 'new' Harvest on this board. Anyone?
