Bourbon House Seafood -- Worth a Trip or Tourist Trap?
Have been invited to dinner (business function) at the Bourbon House Seafood and Oyster Bar. Is this place any good, or should I pass on the free meal infavor of sometihng better elsewhere on my own?
the oyster bar is an elegant setting for eating raw oysters and the restaurant is beautiful, but the food is not all that impressive. I'd probably go there if someone else was picking up the tab, but it'd never be on my list of places to go for dinner.
Though as Chris Martel points out, opinions are mixed, this is generally not considered a tourist trap. New Orleanians are disoriented, because it's a little done-up by local standards for an oyster bar. Probably a notch below Casamento's, Bozo's and Drago's as a temple to the bivalve.
