Sushi in Hollywood

Any recommendations for a great sushi spot in Hollywood for dinner tonight? I've read a few other posts that mentioned Ike on Hwood & Gower. Second that? Any other thoughts?

  1. Sushi Ike gets a lot of praise for high quality food.

Ike is good but the prices have gone up. A recent meal there ran me $80pp(w/ tip) - slightly more then Nozawa and not nearly as good. I would give Hirozen a try - its turning out to be a relative deal @ $50 - $60 a head.

sorry to hear that. i may just retreat to the valley for iroha unless anyone can suggest somethign better over the hill (in that moderate price range)

Haven't been to Ike but I love Hirozen on Beverly.

            I second Hirozen!

      2. Geisha House-pricey but good. I enjoyed it...this was a while ago though...

Geisha House is not bad - and more tailored for those geared towards all those rolls. It's also a restaurant more for the scene/drinks than the food (owned by Dolce Group -- which also runs Dolce Enoteca and the recently opened Ketchup).

The closest sushi place I liked there is Azami Sushi Cafe - but that's on Melrose near La Brea so will involve a drive.

        2. I go to Moon Sushi on Santa Monica and Highland...it's great and the owner's usually there greeting you. And he even got in live octopus so I could try it!

          It's inexpensive, too.

I haven't been there recently but I enjoyed the sushi there each time I went. Creative rolls and the sushi is pretty good too

Go! And say hi to the owner, Paul...he cool!

It's closer to my place, so I walk there and order lots of sake...
