Best Middle Eastern/Arab market in OC

emily May 1, 2007 11:43 AM

I've been shopping at Super Irvine (on Culver), but have been disappointed by the variety offered. Some items that I've looked for but haven't found include Aleppo pepper, dried mint and "country-style" phyllo. Recommendations for a larger, more varied market in OC would be appreciated.

Pretty good Persian lunch counter too. But beware of the grumpy guy that works there.

There's a market on Ball Road in Anaheim between Brookhurst and Magnolia (in the strip mall that has Zankou Chicken). I think it's called Kings Market. They have pretty much all Arab foods, halal meats, and really cheap produce. It's very cramped but well worth it.
