Hi, I am coming into the North End this Saturday to food shop and would like to have your recs on where I would obtain great bread, fresh ricotta and mozzarella, artisan pastas and recs for lunch. This would include casual and more formal places.

Thanks in advance and I will report after the trip.

Congrats Gourmaniac. I missed your post first time around.

I'd add Salumeria Italiana on Richmond St to my tour..great breads, chees, cold cuts, and more. Cirace's Liquor also on Richmond has to be 1 of the prettiest liquor stores in town..with an strong emphasis on Italian items.

Fresh Cheese on Endicott is worth a stop too.

Thanks Yum yum and 9lives for your well wishes. i'm amazed at the outpouring of congrats. I mainly wrote to talk about the chowing. For the OP, Pace has cheeses, Monicas has good pastas but frankly one can do better elsewhere. e.g. Russos or the pasta place in medford (blanking on the name). Lots of options for lunch. Galleria Umberto (good arancini) Antico forno are two good value choices.
