solo dining in chelsea

Hi, I'm coming into chelsea about 10PM from west coast and looking for a nice spot for a light late dinner where a woman won't feel uncomfortable eating alone. any suggestions please, price is open and I prefer mediterranean, tapas or sushi. thanks for any help.

You could eat at the tapas bar at Boqueria. The place has a bustling atmosphere and the tapas bar is really inviting. It's on 19th between 5th & 6th Aves (closer to 6th). Or you could go to Casa Mono, another tapas place with great and friendly bar seating, but it's a little further east than Chelsea. It's on Irving Place near 17th/18th Street, just beyond Union Square.

You can try Le Zie on Seventh Ave., between 20th and 21st St. It serves Italian food, with some Venetian dishes. It's not a pick-up joint of any kind and you won't feel uncomfortable dining solo.

tour on 15th street and 7th ave. really good food, nice atmosphere, open late so they won't be hussling you out the door. nice wait staff, good wines by the glass. and if its a warm evening, you might be able to nab a sidewalk seat.

I, a woman, ate alone at Le Zie and it was lovely. The spegetti with meatballs were excellent. (though perhaps not light).
