does anyone else feel that two boots is pretend pizza. cornmeal crust just does not work for me. we are in ny, i prefer to do the ny thing. two boots is not special in any way to me...

Two Boots' pretendishness is an issue only in neighborhoods where options for dining & drinking are plentiful. Here in the LES hinterlands, I am grateful for the new business and the opportunity to enjoy a reasonably good sit-down meal (perhaps even with alcohol - dare to dream) within walking distance of my home.

Yep, above Delancey and/or west of Essex it does. Otherwise, not so much.

Agree. have been looking forward to them opening too. I live above delancey and if i only had one choice of pizza, i would go for the quintessential NY slice, but only if it's a good one. i rather have a plain Two Boots slice with their cornmeal crust and spicy sauce than one from rosario's or that new place on ludlow st. i also like two boots for the calabria slice.

i too used to have great disdain for two boots pizza. but last year, having been dragged to the ave a outpost by colleagues (it's near work), i gave up considering it pizza and trying to enjoy a plain slice--- it's not for that. you get some crazy-named slice with some combination of weird stuff on it like blue cheese or crawfish and it can be pretty darn yummy.
