Best Stove - Gas

I am in the market for a new stove. I want propane gas and will consider the high end brands. However, I've spoken with some of my friends who have said high end stoves (i.e. Wolf), and they say it's not always worth the extra buck.

In your opinion, what is the "best" stove?

I am looking for even, consistent cooking and a stove that can reach high cooking temperatures. That's the problem with the one I have now - my oven and two of the burners don't get hot enough. I don't need anything really big either - five open burners, one oven, one broiler.

Let me know what you think.

  1. Installed a Thermador last year when we re-did our kitchen. I absolutely love it. One of my favorite features is the super low heat on two of the burners. It cycles on and off by itself ranging from {on 54 seconds and off 6 seconds} to {on 6 seconds and off 54 seconds}. This allows you to cook sauces with out burning, and do the same with cheese and chocolate. It's just a great stove!
