High end eats this weekend but no reservation yet - help!

  • 7

Hi,
We are coming to town for the weekend and I forgot to make reservations for Friday and Saturday night dinner. We don't mind eating a bit on the late side but 10PM is as late as we can go. I had a quick scan of opentable but am looking for recommendations from the hounds.
We like 11 Madison Park, wd 50, Wallse.....you get the idea. We are not stuck on any particular kind of food.
Any ideas where I might have a hope in heck of getting a table for 4?
Thanks!
Tim

  1. I made last-minute reservations on Saturday night for wd-50...I think you'll have a good chance. Your best be would be to go to: www.opentable.com

Thanks. I have checked Open Table. I can get wd-50 at 10PM so we might do that as a last resort. I was interested in anything that might not be on Open Table....

i was able to get into robuchon last minute after 9

      2. Urena is on 28th St., b/t Madison & Park Av. S. Despite the fact that chef/owner Alex Urena (formerly at Blue Hill, Bouley, and other high end restaurants) is serving some of the most creative and delicious food around, the restaurant continues to travel under the usual radar. That's due, I think, to the pounding they took when they first opened with regard to the space and, especially, the lighting. The latter was fixed some time ago so that the space, admittedly a bit awkward, is now bathed in a soft, warm glow. Tables are nicely-spaced, and seating is very comfortable. Checking OpenTable, I see you will have no difficulty reserving for either Friday or Saturday.

I agree on Urena...we waltzed in a few Saturday's ago around 7:00 without a reservation.
I could eat the suckling pig everday (but it's good that I don't.)

        2. There's always the bar at Babbo....
