Monday night in rosemont/allstate arena area

  • 2

Visiting from uk and have decided to check out the Chicago Rush on 7 May.

Are there good places pre/post game for food and/or beers , or should we go straight to the game and head straight back out to downtown again ?Particularly interested in any decent brew pubs with food or anywhere for post game beers with a friendly vibe.

Also is getting to /from the arena easy on public transport ( espec if late after post game beers ) or should one of us do the designated driver thing ?

Thanks in advance for any tips

  1. For casual food in Rosemont, go to Giordano's and order the stuffed pizza. They are the only major Chicago-style chain with a location right near the Allstate Arena. They also regularly win more reader surveys and critical raves in both the local and national media than any other pizza place in Chicago. (It's my own personal favorite, too, although I also like the other deep-dish chains.)

I suspect that the percentage of people who go there by public transportation is very low, though. Keep in mind that the reduced frequency of buses and trains late at night means for much longer travel times. Frankly, I think you're better off with a car and a designated driver.

I'd take public transporation there and a cab back. Parking can be expensive. Giordano's is good suggestion for that area although probably my least favorite. Be prepared for lots of cheese. Also, the wait on the pizza is 30-40 minutes so order accordingly. Bar wise, I'd just head downtown after the game. It'll be easier when you want to go back to the hotel after a few beers!
