French Quarter late nite eats.

i realize this isn't really a gourmet question, but where would you recommend for some late nite sustenance (post mid, post 1,2, 3 hours) of course besides 24/7 beignets and cafe at the cafe dum onde. thanks again.

Another vote for the verti mart! On budget? Twice baked potato.

West and south from verti mart is an extra clean sit down. Name escapes.

Angeli's is the best. Try the divine portobello app. They are late night, but not sure is they are 24 hours yet. I also like the three legged dog for good bar food. Cheese fries with bacon and ranch are yummy late at night. Also the vieux carre pizza has a yummy pesto, spinach, chicken and feta pizza by the slice. Stay away from the yucky, eer I mean luck dogs.

Coop's on Decatur.. Get the jambalaya.

I've had really good pizza a couple of times at Angeli's on Decatur, although I was drunk every time. They're open 24 I'm pretty sure. Good beers. Pretty sizeable menu too, not just pizza.

I second Angeli's. The spinach and feta triangles are a great app. Also, the burgers are spicy and tasty, along with any of the pasta dishes.

The service is most friendly and the black and white movies playing over the bar are a cool feature.

I know they're open til at least 3 or 4. They may be 24 hours again.

Coop's Place, I think the kitchen is open until 2 or so.

A little further afield, Mimi's in the Marigny has some very fine tapas until 4 am.

Coop's was closed at 1:30 last Thursday. At there on Saturday instead -- good marinated crab claws and southern green beans, bland gumbo and shrimp creole. Terrible service.

We went to Coop's last Friday at about midnight and had pretty good service (although they were obviously busy and running around).

The seafood gumbo wasn't really all that exciting - pretty average. The shrimp remoulade salad was fantastic. Lots of shrimp and a nice dressing. The blackened catfish was also good - pretty simple, but v. tasty and nice and crispy.

The Jambalaya is the thing to get at Coops. I was there a few years ago so I don't know if it is any different now, but it was the best Jambalaya I have ever had (the one with rabbit, tasso and shrimp. A thought the red beans were good as well as the boudin.
