Porto's, again and again and again.......
Went to the one on Magnolia yesterday. Arrived about 11:30a and I was surprised at how mild it was inside. In and out 10 minutes
I got myself an italian vege sub that's already made up and in the cold case. OMG heaven in a bun! Fresh mozz, sun dried toms, eggplant and zucc with an olive spread on a french roll.
Of, course........I brought home pastries. Whaddya think me stupid?
How can a place be so smiley, pleasant, efficient and delicious all in the same day?

You are so right about Portos, I have been to both, It is just good food, and yes pleasant, eficient, and of course so delicious. I think that the one in Glendale gets a lot busier than the one in Burbank, maybe it's the setting, but both are great.
I always over buy pastries, it's hard to choose just one.
Thanks for the reminder that I have to go soon.....very soon!›6 Replies-

Believe it or not, many don't know about the Burbank location. The Glendale location is the mothership, so most go there, especially those who are from areas further out who are making "pilgrmages" out to this heralded place... Just yesterday, a good friend was out in Burbank and just happened upon it - I was the lucky recipient of those flavorful guava-filled danishes as a result of his find.

I didn't know about the Burbank store either. The thing is, I think the Glendale shop is closer anyway. Maybe the Glendale location is more central to more people. All I know, is everytime I go to the Glendale store, it is crazy busy-- so much so, that I have to actually think, "Do I really want to go there?" Usually, my answer is no. I like the food and everything; I just really dislike the crowds.

Go to the burbank shop. The design of the shop is better and easier to navigate. Not sure if its bigger tho. I was in the area (Mt. Sinai Memorial Park/Cemetery), otherwise neither store is close to me. It's worth it tho everytime. The Glendale shop has been there for years and years so, most will gravitate there. Just wait word will catch on and the Burbank shop will become a west valley anchor. - People WILL journey, it's that good! :)KQ
