Who has the best "steak frites" in town?

Seems I missed this dish on my recent France trip and am suddenly craving it. Perhaps it was this NY Times article.

I know a lot of people on the boards don't like Les Halles, but I have been there three times and each time I have had an amazing steak frites made with hanger steak. My dining companions have also always had a good experience with it. The fries are quite good, the steak is always cooked just the way I like it (rare/medium-rare), its flavorful, tender, etc. and the shallot sauce is very good.

I like the Minute steak frites in La Côte D'Or Café, it's located in Fall Church, VA. With it's French Country style decoration, good food and decent price, hope you like this restaurant as much as I do.

In my opinion Cafe D'Oc has the best bistro French food in the city and I'm almost positive they have steak frites. Their hanger steak is wonderful and doesn't require any sauce. Also have nice fries.

I second the recommendation, and the judgment. Bistro d'Oc does indeed have, in my opinion, the best bistro food in the city. Both the steak and frites and the chicken and frites are excellent.

I like Mon Ami Gabi,,,,,,,,Cafe DeLuxe.........and Les Halles.......

Probably not popular choices on this board.......but the food to me seems always consistent......

              Pretty good for the money......

Yeah, I read that too this morning. Who in the DC area makes those puffy fries?
And yeah, I would love a nice 1/2 pound or 1 pound dry aged tasty beef steak and those yummy fries.
