Astoria dogs?

With summer approaching, I was wondering if anyone knows of a hot dog stand or anywhere you can get a good dog with all the fixin's... Is there such a place in Astoria?? Thanks in advance!

  1. I've never been but I believe there's a Hot Dog Papaya Place on 30th & Steinway.

Not anymore in that location (it's turning into a bank, sigh). I hear they (Manos Papaya) are moving further west on 30th Ave near 31st Street.

      2. You need to check out Water Taxi Beach in LIC. Just south of Gantry Park and across from the Waterfront Crab House. For hot dogs they have:
Black Angus Beef Dogs $3 (Stahl-Meyer, deep fried)
        Soy dog, $3.50 (Various, BBQ'd)
Chili Cheese Dog $4.50 (Black Angus Dog, Coney Sauce, Am Chz)
Marinated Beef Hot Dog $4 (Griddled, tastes sweet & spicy)

They also have 300 tons of New Jersey sand, a Tiki Bar, volleyball and music. How can you go wrong??

Friday (May 25th) of Memorial day Weekend to:
Monday (Oct 8th) of Columbus Day Weekend.

Thanks, I saw their website, but timmernyc's post sounded as if they were open now. bummer, if have to wait till Memorial day.

Water Taxi Beach plans to be open the weekends of May:

"Although we officially open on Friday of Memorial Day Weekend, weather permitting we will be open every Sat & Sunday in May."

        2. If you're looking for a non-New York hot dog, definitely check out the Chilean hot dogs at San Antonio Bakery #2, on Astoria Blvd (South Side of the highway) at 37th St. They're all-beef, with a grilled bun, tomato, onions, guacamole, mayo, and chili sauce on the side. Definitely worth a trip, cheap, and their other stuff is tasty too.

Oh, and the last time I was in there, the owner said that they were planning on adding pizzas and delivery to their lineup...! Chilean hot dogs, delivered to your door! Can't beat that...

Manhattan and Brooklyn both have Queens beat with regards to hot dogs, the Papaya King and Gray's Papaya shops are the best hot dogs in New York. Nathan's in Coney Island is also worth a visit.
