I am looking for a lunch/brunch place before a Sunday matinee on 52nd street. Any suggestions would be helpful. Janist

How about Bar Americain? Another suggestion would be Norma's at the Le Parker Meridien hotel...If this is what you decide, get reservations at www.opentable.com

Roberto Passon, on the corner of 9th Av. & 50th St., serves Sunday brunch. We've only had dinner there, but the food's very good, and the atmospherics are pleasant.

Rene Pujol, the French restaurant, on 51st St., b/t 8th & 9th Avs., serves lunch on Sunday. Delicious food and very nice ambiance.

      Uncle Nick's, on 9th Av., b/t 50th & 51st Sts., serves tasty Greek food in a casual taverna-style setting.

Vynl, on 9th, b/t 50th & 51st, serves Sunday brunch. I haven't been, but lots of Hounds recommend it.
