They weren't serving food the night we were there. Just oysters as it was a soft opening and therefore was more of an after dinner spot than a place to dine...

Talked to one of the owners brother last night and he is saying that the opening is Friday... (then everyone said "which year!")

I walked past around 7:30pm last night, and it didn't look like it was quite ready to open yet - most of the lights turned off, chairs stacked on tables, and two paint cans holding the front door open (I assumed for staff or trades).

I assume this was a late-night private party type of opening?

not sure.. saw a freind at 1am who had just come back from the opening. Said they were very disorganized. Did not say anything about food except that they had a platter of oysters.

its opened....finally!!...went for a quick drink, late on Saturday nite.
I need to return ...they have fondue on the menu!!!

as of May 28th she's still unopened. Martiniboys reported that it was to open in April... Hope it's opening soon!

I recently heard that they're renaming the place "Prohibition" Because city by-laws don't allow to name places after alcohol.

Not to mention beerbistro, and Pravda Vodka Bar, and probably several others that I can't recall right now.

Sounds pretty unlikely to me. Although I do think the Booze Emporium name is pretty lame, so Prohibition would be an improvement.

i drove past the place yesterday and it isn't opened yet. The windows are still papered over so i am assuming it will be awhile yet.

Update...

The city would not allow the name Booze Emporium, so the owners have changed the name to Prohibition.

i walked by...and took a peek inside. It looks gorgeous!! They seem to be working hard so that they can have a "soft opening" on Wednesday (aug 1st). Probably a good idea to call first!!

I called to find out the status of their opening....its not going to be this wednesday. Maybe Friday??..call first..!!!

I've called there, and they don't have their voicemail setup yet. Curious myself.
