Where to eat in Springfield, MO?? There for business monthly.

Going to Springfield, MO once a month now for business and need to find some good places to eat. I enjoy steaks, seafood, ethnic and Italian food. Sometimes a good salad works for dinner and enjoy things on the healthier side. I have a buget of $40 for dinner for one so that should give me lots of options. Also, would consider places on the cheap end if they are good. Thanks for any recommendations you can provide.

    Hi,
We moved here about 10 years ago from the Bay Area and have found a few places we can depend on for a great meal.
Gilardi's for Italian. It is on Walnut, across from the University Plaza hotel. The service is probably the best in the area. The food is consistantly good, creative and fresh! It is authentic Northern Italian cuisine.
Riad for mediterranean food. Good hummus, lamb, etc. They have a nice bar and are also known for the hookahs. Riad is downtown on the plaza.
Millie's Cafe is great for lunch or dinner. An ecletic mix of food. They are at S. Jefferson near downtoown.
Now we have not tried Bruno's Italian (on South St) yet, but have heard good things.
Also, you might try Fish on E Battlefield, as the chef is quite popular here.
    Hope that helps.
    Mel
