Ensenada to San Felipe Hwy 3

I'm driving from Ensenada to San Felipe next month on Hwy 3. I know its sparsely populated, but is there anywhere to eat along the way? Also, aside from the food, any reason not to drive it during daylight hours. Drove it once 11 years ago in the middle of the night, but I wasn't quite as wise as I am now (ha-ha). I'm returning on the usual route through Mexicali. Also, any rec's for Puerto Nuevo and San Felipe? I usually end up at El Galleon in P.N. Just a habit.

A friend of mine lives in San Felipe and frequently travels that road. I emailed her and asked for information.

Her answer: "The road between Ensenada and San Felipe is quite barren. It depends on what he wants. There is a place in Valle de Trinidad. Just turn into town and ask for a place to eat. Also, there is a little eatery on the north side of the main highway about a mile or two east of San Mateos. There is no fancy or GREAT place that I know."

Thank you very much for the info. I think I'm going to just fill up in P.N. or Ensenada and just enjoy the scenery.
