Need Hartford Area Recommendations!
Hi,
First time posting to this board...
We're looking for a rehearsal dinner location in West Hartford/Farmington/Avon area (Hartford, maybe, but we'd like to stay out of the downtown area).
Does anyone have any suggestions? We're not looking to spend a ton of money per person (i.e. checked out Barcelona and that's too much per person for us). Also would like a restaurant with a private room.
We're thiking that we'd like something other than American food, but not totally against it.
Hope someone can suggest some places!
Thanks!

Hello
There is the Farmington Marriott and also The Stonewell in Farmington ... up the street there is The Silo restaurant (Farmington) and Confetti (Farmington) ... I second J Timothy's (Plainville/Farmington) because their wings are fantastic. They have very nice areas for large parties.-
re: Hugh Jorgan
Not a big fan of Stonewell or Silo but Confetti's, has good food despiter their dated decor. They have a deck too if you're talking about a summer party. Also, I know people that had a rehearsal dinner at First and Last in Avon and were quite pleased with the way it turned out.

How big is your party? Mediza in West Hartford used to have a small private room (capacity: 15 people maybe?), the cuisine is Mediterranean. Here is the website:

Avon Old Farms Inn has a nice private room but its American food. You might try Costa Del Sol (Spanish) or O'Porto (Portugese) both in Hartford but not downtown.

re: brookerme
We are doing a party at O'Porto in June. Food is great, room nice, prices fair, and the people are easy to work with, very flexible. They have the banquet choices on line so you can check out the prices, but they will actually combine menu items any way you want. It is literally on the Hartford/West Hartford line and has lots of parking.
The room at Cost Del Sol seems nice too. We've had many dinners there (but no large groups) and the food is excellent, but the location is a little farther away. IMO, don't got to Mediza. Had one of my top five worst ever dining experiences there, 3 out of 4 entrees just terrible, service unprofessional at best. JB
