Private room for 40th bday
We're trying to plan a special dinner for my sister's 40th- family only, which includes a 2 and 4 yr old. Thought the private room might allow them to run around in a nice restaurant and not bother others! Any suggestions? Thanks!

Mamma Maria's in the N. End
Eastern Standard in Kenmore
Rialto in Harvard Square
No. 9 Park on Beacon HillI've haven't been in the updated Rialto private dining room but the food and service was excellent on the few occasions I was there for business dinners before the renovation.
I've been to engagement and anniversary dinners in the private spaces of the others and they too were excellent. No. 9 was the most probably the most special as the host opted for the 7 course tasting menu and a special dessert.

We do have lots of suggestions but unless you can help us narrow things down, it's hard for us to help you. The more of the following you can provide the better we'll be able to help:
o geographical limits
o adventure level of hosts/guests (red sauce Italian or full-on Chinese banquet)
o types of food you enjoy/hate (Chinese? Italian? French?)
* how many people
* budget per personThe last two are really essential for us to give meaningful suggestions. Let us know and we'll be glad to recommend.

re: DavisSquare
oops- posted too quickly! Details might help!
about 10 people including the 2 kids, in the boston/cambridge area, no budget per person
The only requirement for food is that it be fabulous! We're open to any type of food, if there's a special banquet menu or tasting menu, even better. The only exception is NO Chinese banquet.
Thanks so much!
