Business Dinner in South End?

I need to find a good restaurant for a semi-casual business dinner. Need a private room for about 25 people, great food, great atmosphere and somewhere near (with-in 2 miles) of the Boston Convention Center. thanks!

If you want to be near the convention center, you have a lot more options than just the South End. I really like Radius, which does have a private room, though it's not exactly casual. It'll be a little north of $100 pp but the service, ambiance, and food are superb. Near South Station is Les Zygomates, a french bistro and wine bar. The food is pretty good, but the service, wine, and atmosphere are great---the prices are friendlier, too.

I'd steer away from Beacon Hill, because it is a bit far from the convention center, and there aren't many good private dining options.

The North End is close enough, but I'm not sure of good places for private dining with a party that large in that area.

I'll second the Les Zygomates option

I'll also second Stella in the South End for the occasion (nice private room).

Also in response to kbw18, the South End is very close to the Convention Center. A quick cab from the Convention Center towards town, left on Melcher before the Fort Point bridge, right on A St. then right on the West 4th St takes you to Berkelely in no time. Depending on the time of day, the traffic on this route is minimal.

I'd pick one of those two based on where the Hotel is that everyone is staying

Are you sure that you mean South End? Very little of the South End is within 2 miles of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center except as the crow flies, and it's either through some of Boston's worst traffic or ugliest landscapes, depending on route.

If you mean South Boston, where the convention center is, Sorriso on West St. is a great business dinner place (in the Leather District, but mostly right down the street from the BCEC).

Thanks! I'm not famliar at all w/ Boston, so I think I confused South End w/ South Boston. I am going to check out Sorriso, thanks for the tip! I'll let you know how it goes.

You might want to consider one of better places in Marina Bay in Quincy. Several have good sized spaces and all have great views of the city.

Mistral has a private room (and is in the South End, on Columbus Ave) Food and service are excellent, but you'll pay for it.

The South End doesn't have many private rooms that large: maybe Sibling Rivalry, which I can't recommend; perhaps Stella, whose food is just okay. I suggest you refocus your request to include Downtown, the North End, and the Back Bay. It would also help to specify your price range.

price is not an issue, anything is fine. And I'm not familiar with Boston at all, so thanks for the help. Is the Beacon Hill area anywhere close? I've seen a lot of restaurants in that area but I just don't know enough to know which one to go with.
