Jam/Canning lessons in Baltimore
Does anyone know of any jam-making or canning classes in the Baltimore area? I've looked online and asked at the farmer's market, but I can't seem to find anything. Or is anyone on here experienced enough to want a helper? Or alternatively, am I just being a baby and should learn by myself?
thanks for the link. they have pretty good looking instructions. i've found very detailed instructions at the usda website as well. you'd think that being a microbiology graduate student, i wouldn't have a problem trying this on my own. after all, i follow very similar protocols all day in the lab, but i don't eat anything in my lab...and we study common food-borne bacteria, which makes me a little nervous about what i eat :)
I made jam for the 1st time ever last year. I didn't even have all the "proper" equipments. But with a good site, you should be just fine. My jam was so yummy and popular it was all gone within 2 month. My fingers are already itchy for the upcoming strawberry picking season....
