Bistro K- new Chef & Owner

Owner/chef Laurent Quenioux of Bistro K in South Pasadena is planning to move from his present location to an exciting locale in Los Angeles. Beginning May 1, 2007, Bistro K will be under a new management and a new Owner.

Laurent’s new location will be far more spacious with a tasteful, simple but elegant design. His adventurous and imaginative menus will continue to amaze and delight his customers with their seemingly unending variety.

      If things work out, the new place will be in the downtown area. Likely not open until late '07/early '08.

      I'm going for my final hurrah on 4/27 to toast a marvelous chef and his crew.

        He wasn't specific at all in his newsletter. But he will be missed in South Pasadena.

          Any idea where in the downtown the new spot will be? Do they have a location? Or are they looking for one?

        Wow, thanks for the update! Ive known Chef Laurent back when he was running the stadium club at Dodger Stadium. Looking forward to catching up with him soon!

          I have a tentative reservation for Friday night (the person who took it said I'll likely get in, but needed manager's approval first)

            Alas, I didn't get off the waiting list (I called half an hour before my planned reservation time) :( Guess I'll have to wait till the new LA joint opens.

            My last hurrah is saturday. While I'm excited for the new space, I wonder if the quality can stay as high while servicing 2 1/2 times the customers.

            I think it being my last visit at this location is a great excuse to be even more excessive there than usual.

              we have a reservation there for Saturday too. Has anyone been lately that can recommend good entrees? I don't know if we will do the tasting menu. Beef cheeks and Duck both look good.

                do the tasting menu...i think its like 6 course for $55?
