Wine tasting after work - Seattle
Looking for a place downtown near the Market where one might be able to enjoy a nice wine tasting after work besides the Tasting Room and besides Purple. Or even someplace that has a nice happy hour wine selection. I'm taking wine newbie out after work and don't want them to spend a fortune trying to figure out what wines they might like. Are there any wine bars or tasting that go on in the evening on a regular bases downtown? If not I’ll take them to Woodinville one weekend.
One more thing does anyone know if any of the restaurants in Seattle carry A. Rafanelli Zinfandel I know Vivanda did but they have since closed and Steelhead Diner is there now.
Thanks in advance.

Pike and Western wine shop does free tastings on Friday afternoons. Not a bad way to start the weekend,
And your mention of Vivande made me nostalgic. It was one of my favourite restaurants. The food, wine and service were consistently fantastic - i don't know why they didn't last.

94 Stewart might be a good choice and is near/at the Market (try the avocado/panko appetizer). Tulio, at the Hotel Vintage Park, has a nice wine selection and the staff are quite knowledgeable.
Ahh. A. Rafanelli. One of my favorites since being introduced to it on a snowy winter's night up at South Lake Tahoe. It's fairly rare. Bricco (wine bar on Queen Anne) carries it from time to time. You may want to call ahead to see if it's in: 206.285.4900.
