On the Red Velvet Prowl*

Well it's not Northern NJ but since nobody's replied so far, I'd tell you that I had some very good homemade red velvet cake at Restaurant X in Congers (Rockland). It was actually dyed with beet juice which the waitress said is the "correct" way to make it. I'm not sure if it was a special or if it's always on the menu so you might call ahead if you go there.
