Mill Street Brew Pub?

  • 7

Hey everyone,

I'm just wondering what everyone's experiences have been at the Mill Street Brew Pub in the Distillery District -- both in regards to food and the place itself.

Thanks!

  1. Here are a couple of recent threads to help you out. Overall, the consensus is a thumbs up. And if you're interested, the next chowmeet on May 20 is going there for brunch.

sorry about that -- searching slipped my mind.

I have been there a few times, and think the food is good and priced fairly. We had a problem there last night, but based on prior experience, it appears to be an isolated incident. My partner ordered the quesadillas (advertised as having sauted peppers, mushrooms and onions). The quesadillas arrived without mushrooms or onions and with fresh rather than sauted peppers (2 or 3 small pieces in each quarter). When we pointed this out to the server, she was very professional - apologized, said she would not charge for the item and offered a complimentary dessert. She explained that they were having difficulties in the kitchen. No similar concerns during other visits, so it appears they were having a bad day in the kitchen.
I recommend a visit. Chicken and leek pot pie is very good - excellent pastry made on premises.

      2. I went last monday, and we enjoyed it. So much that I went home to buy a case of coffee porter. The chorizo and fennel pizza was a bit wierd, the crust was squishy and doughy, and my bf really disliked it. I thought it was alright, but not dazzling, and not really restaurant class pizza. We also ordered the calamari and sweet potato fries, both which were really good.

A bit of a problem with the service-forgot what we ordered twice and didnt come to the table often, and made a small mistake with the bill. she was really nice though, and explained they had a crazy rush before the theatre and was overwhelmed. we got there around 7:30.

Loved the atmosphere and had a really great night, would try it again. Plus we went to Soma across the street, which was amazing.

        1. Nice place. I had the Prime Rib Burger for $12.99 and was livid when it arrived. It was nothing more than a President's Choice version, available to me at my local No Frills for about $1 a pop. And I'd have cooked it better, too. Ballsy move to charge that kind of money for a frozen burger. Still, their Organic Lager is really good.
