Ristorante Pesto in Philly

Does anyone have any input on this restaurant? Our favorite BYOB Italian place in Philly is Ristorante Valentino, at 13th & Pine. Comparison?

I don't know Valentino, but I like Pesto a lot. They're a BYOB; they make their own fresh pasta, bread, salumeria, desserts (including gelato) and are very warm and down-to-earth. Reasonable prices and almost frighteningly clean. The outside isn't that inviting, but they are serious about food.

I've never had a bad meal at Pesto. We always stop there when we're in Philly. The mushroom appetizer stuffed with crab is delicious. Everything is really good.

        Hey jessicheese :)

I've been to Pesto a number of times and it's delicious. They do great grilled seafood and vegetables. Service is also friendly.

I've never been to restaurante valentino, so I can't offer the comparison, but I've been to Pesto twice. I enjoyed it both times. I had the gnocci pesto the first time, with an assortment of apps and snickers cake, and a seafood pasta special the next time. Everything was wonderful.
Side note- for some reason you have to ask for sides with your entrees, or they won't be included.

Are the sides included in the price of the entree?

I want to say they are, which is why it was weird that we needed to ask for them. I could be wrong though.
