Anybody have any opinions on which brands they prefer and why? thanx in advance
Mine comes in a little red box - the dwenjang I have is same co. but in green. Seems to be pretty good. I have heard that in Korea some beautiful souls still make theirs from scratch.
I get a jar of the homemade stuff when I visit my mother...but you can buy the assi brand that comes in the jar - thats pretty decent
however most koreans buy kochujang in the red box like kare raisu suggested. Its not bad and it will last you FOREVER if you put it in the fridge. I keep mine in the freezer (my mother told me to) but some koreans keep it in the fridge part.
