West 54th/10th Ave recommendations for dinner after The Daily Show taping?

I am visiting NYC next month and am going to a Comedy Central Daily Show taping. I wondered if anyone had recs for dinner after the show? I would love something lively, upscale, with a mid to upper price range (since we would be meeting some foodie friends there). The studio is located on West 54th, between 10th and 11th which I think is in the Hells Kitchen/Midtown West area? Thanks alot!

Sounds like some good recs. Just a quick note to the OP -- the Daily Show tapes on 11th Avenue between 51st and 52nd Streets. I think the address you have is for the Colbert Report.

Enjoy the taping and the dinner!

If you're not interested in Taboon, Whym is on 57th & 9th ave. Upscale American, everything I have had there is good and reliable. Desserts especially - pear bread pudding.

Taboon is terrific. The breads and appetizers ARE fantastic as the other reviewers note. You can make a great meal from a selection of them. The room is lovely too and the staff is very nice.

I'm also a big fan of Taboon. The main courses, especially the fish in the taboon and the lamb are excellent as well.

Although I certainly tend to stuff myself with the bread and tzaziki!

Highly recommend Taboon, too. Great lamb dishes... and the bread is wonderful!

One block away is Taboon, on the corner of 10th ave and 52nd street -- upscale middle eastern, with amazing bread and meze/apps. Save room for dessert -- halva ice cream parfait.

Second Taboon, which fits your bill to a T.
