The windows have been repaired, but Speedy Burger won't be around much longer. There is a rezoning application in place for a 58 unit condo on the site.

How long this will take to play out depends on the vagaries of Toronto's weird planning process. But I personally don't think this miserable little strip plaza belongs in an urban neighbourhood and I doubt that there will be much opposition to the redevelopment. This site was actually mentioned in the Star's weekend architecture column.

Too bad about the burger joint, though. (I haven't tried it myself and probably won't bother now.)

I'd love to try it but it seems like they are never open, have tried going by twice (once on a Friday at 5:30pm!) and they have been closed both times. I'm guessing they are a breakfast/lunch place only?

They operate from Monday to Friday, 9 to 4 I believe. Shockingly enough though, the other day, all the windows were boarded up. I hope they're renovating, cause otherwise alot of people are really missing out.
