[MSP] Cool Temps, Study-Friendly, and Good Food?

The end of my semester (and 4.5 years of college) is in sight! But for some reason they haven't turned on the A/C yet, making it 85° F in my apartment. So that means I have a reason to go out!

Are there any favorite places in the metro where one can relax in either breezy or A/C-filled rooms, bring a laptop or other materials, and enjoy some good food and arctic-cold iced tea? I've been giving some nasty stares by servers for staying too long like this before, so I'm looking for a place where it's alright.

Any suggestions?

I'm in a similar spot in that I'm trying to finish up the semester while our kitchen is under construction, so I've been looking for places to hang out all day.

    1. The Birchwood Cafe serves lemonade and iced tea all year 'round. And it's fine to camp at a table for hours - my record so far is around 4 or 5 hours, I think. (I work at home, and the Birchwood is my official office.)

I do tend to avoid peak mealtimes, because it gets quite crowded and noisy, and you might get a stare from someone waiting for a table. People rarely sit at the counter, so you could move there during lunch or dinner.

However, I don't know if they have turned on the air conditioning yet. There's always the outdoor tables!

You know, Birchwood is almost in my neighborhood and have been itching to go ever since I moved here. Will give that a shot! I've tried going to Cliqout Club about 4-5 times now and each time I try to go it's been packed. Hopefully I have better luck at Birchwood.
