They have had a chef change many months ago and the food is now wonderful. They have a great bar and there's a really nice atmosphere inside. For a date, it's a nice scene if you want something more fancy than a salad or sandwhich at a cafe (though Zibbibo is still casual). Another favorite is Bistro Elan on California Ave in PA. Really wonderful food, a more quiet atmosphere and nice wine list. You might also try Tamarine in downtown Palo Alto, a nice fusion Vietnamese cuisine. Also, further north, I'd try New Kapodokia in Redwood City. Really good Turkish food, nice family-run place.
