In and around Hastings

We will be near Hastings for a few days next week. Does anyone know any good restaurants near Hastings or Rye?

For a nice cream tea, Rye has Simon the Pieman. It's on one of the small streets off the High and the scones were very good.

The Landgate Bistro at Rye is good ( a Good Food Guide Cooking 4 score). The GFG also mentions the Fish Cafe but I havnt eaten there. I recall pretty good pub grub at the "Ypres Castle" - but it is about 3 years since we were there.

The GFG has no listing for Hasting itself (and the restaurants along the main pedestrianised road looked rather disappointing touristy places (of course, it is a tourist town). Inland the GFG mentions "Pilgrims" at Battle as specialising in using local produce in bistro-style dishes.
