May 8th Bank Holiday WHICH RESTAURANTS ARE OPEN?

kittykatkid Apr 20, 2007 07:41 AM

I just received an e mail from my hotel confirming my dinner and lunch reservations. Apprently Au Fil de Saisons is closed on Tuesday May 8th because it is a bank holiday. Does this mean all restaurants are closed on the 8th of May?? I am so disappointed!! Does anyone know of any good restaurants that are open???Please help fellow chowhounds!!!

You might check out Willi's Wine Bar and/or Maceo www.williswinebar.com I'm pretty sure if it's not Christmas or Sunday that Willi's is open. and the food is quite tasty. Wines are fabulous...

Smaller neighbourhood bistrots closed on Sunday (and Monday, like Au Fil de Saisons Monday for lunch) just make 'le pont' adding that Tuesday. This makes a nice break for the staff.
Also, lots of Parisians will take a long weekend and will be out of town (similarly to the May 1 weekend).
Other than that, brasseries and larger places will be open in general.

Thanks Dodo, so you think that there will be other options. Great, we are staying in the 7th on Rue Cler and most of the places around there are small bistro types of establishments. Do you think Christian Constants restauants will be open??
