Good Steak and/or Seafood Downtown?

I'll be here with my boyfriend who loves steak, so looking for a good restaurant with fun ambiance to have dinner at one day next week. It doesn't have to be super fancy, just good food and a good vibe. Looking to spend around $100 total for dinner. I also enjoy seafood, so if there is a place that has both that would be preferable. Thanks in advance!

Could try le Select Bistro which has a nicer vibe than the chains..They have fish and steak in a casual French bistro setting. You might go a touch over $100 just keep the drinking to a minimum!

Most downtown places will cost you more. However the Keg (which is a chain) has its best outlet on York Street (at Richmond). It's a zoo immediately after work, but calms down a couple of hours later and, for a chain, is very respectable. They have another outlet on Jarvis (near Wellesley) called Keg Mansion - that's a much more impressive decor (smaller rooms and indeed a once splendid mansion). The Mansion attracts a younger crowd for dinner. But the food at that one doesn't seem as good (to me) and the service at York St is much more professional. A couple of fish/seafood items available too.
And both are also open Sunday if that's a consideration.

I've always been partial to the Church and Esplanade location. Not as busy as the York Street, but not the same "short comings" in food that you speak of at the Mansion.

I've always found that the food at the mansion is not as good as any of their other locations. Perhaps I'm crazy.

I've also had good luck at the Church and Esplanade location although $100 total might be a bit of a stretch even for the Keg (although probably do-able). They had a lobster special the last time I was there and My wife though it was the best lobster she ever had (and she is a discriminating lobster eater).
