anyone have anywhere to suggest? i don't like them if they're too heavy on the sauce, but just the right amount of crispiness and spiciness. thanks!

Strange but true - my vote goes for Old Town Bar. Its just a bonus that the place is still a great stop for a beer, has a dumbwaiter and actually serves clam strips!!

I can't resist suggesting Scruffy Duffy's on 8th Ave between 46th/47th (because it's so good!). Tasty, meaty wings that are always cooked just right. The sauce is a bit thick and interesting with many spices, and not the generic orange cayenne-and-butter sauce.

I live near the Old Town Bar and will have to give their wings a try.

I gotta go with Atomic Wings. They have locations all around the city within bars as well as their own, more take-out type spots. I prefer Bar Coastal in the upper east side because of all the tv's, atmosphere and tables. The one in the village is very cramped and underground level, very fratboy atmosphere- go if you want beer pong with your wings.
Blondies is great too, they're on w79th st and also 1st and 92nd.
ps- I went to school in Buffalo so I know the real deal! DUFFS REPRESENT!
