I need to bring an especially delicious pie to a great cook's home for dinner this weeklend. They live outside of Providence and I'm not familiar with any bakeries in that neck of the woods...any kind of fruit pie would be great. Thanks.

I love the blueberry pie at Scialo's (Italian bakery) on Atwells Ave in Providence. It's a very old timey beautiful bakery. A few blocks away on Spruce Street Pastiche has a terrific selection of sweets. Check out: www.pastichefinedesserts.com
    Enjoy!

I second sugarmama's suggestion. Scialo's has beautiful "old fashioned" pies ( and more) and Pastiche is patisserie heaven.

The banana cream pie at Pastiche looks amazing.

Sorry this may be too late, and this could also be out of your way too much but Sakonnet River Pie makes very attractive pies particularly suitable for bringing as a gift/dinner contribution. You could call and see what they will have available tomorrow.
