Dining in Asheville Attire

We are going for the first time in a week to Asheville . This site has been very helpful and rec's for places to eat, Salsa, Modesto, Stoney Knob, Turpelo Honey,Sunny point, Zambar, Limones, etc. Living in Berkeley we dress vewry casual, jeans, shorts in warm weather. What is the attire in Asheville. I imagine it is casual also but need to think aboutpacking for our trip?

Just remember though, that even though the daytime temps can be in the 70's and 80's this time of year it can still get very cool at night.

you will be fine. Asheville as a rule is very casual with the exception of a few restaurants - none of them that you have mentioned here. People dress up a bit more for dinner at Zambras and Limones but you still will see jeans, albeit with high heels, in the evenings.

Leah , What restaurants? If we go for a drink at the bar at Grove Park can we wear jeans

Yes you can wear jeans to the bar at the grove park. This town is VERY casual. And while some may choose to dress up at some of the nicer restaurants, jeans are still accepted.

I agree with Bethd....you see a bit of everything here in Asheville. The most dressed up I ever see people is at places like Fig or Rezaz's in Biltmore Village, Chops and Horizons in GPI or Richmond Hill Inn - other than that you can get away with just about anything.
