Double chocolate cake from Epicurious Help!!

I want to make the "double chocolate cake from Epicurious" but I don't want to use the ganache icing. Can you suggest another delicious icing for this cake?

  1. This is a nice glaze that is very smooth and lighter than ganache. You'll want to glaze the cooled cake immediately after making the icing, because the heat of the melted butter helps it to spread easily.

    1 cup sifted powdered sugar
    3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
    2 tablespoons milk
    1/2 teaspoon butter or stick margarine, melted
    1/2 teaspoon light-colored corn syrup

    Combine all ingredients in a small bowl; stir well with a whisk.

    1. dark chocolate sour cream icing-- delicious on this cake! i use a maeda heatter recipe

      1. Katy, you also might want to read through some of the reviews for this cake--lots of people have made it with other frostings, too, with great results. I've made this cake about 6 times but am dead in love with that ganache so that's the only frosting I've done for it.
