Small Function in Dedham, Norwood, West Roxbury?

I'm looking to have a dinner function for approximately 40 people in September and would prefer to avoid hotels. I haven't dined in the area in years. What would you recommend?

Not sure if you want to go as far as Sharon, but Coriander Bistro in Sharon Center is great. You would need to rent out the entire restaurant, but the food and service are excellent.

Also just thought of Bon Caldo on Route 1 (southside) in Norwood. I don't know if they have a room that would fit 40, but the food is good.

Joe & Maria's on Rt. 1 in Norwood is nice Italian food Food is so-so @ Irish Alehouse in Dedham, but they have function room. Brickhouse Cafe on Bridge St. in Dedham is good Italian and you may be able to reserve whole place.

Vintage Restaurant in the old Fontaine Topsy's location on Rt 1 in West Roxbury. It is primarily a steakhouse but also has good fish; very attractive room. Not quite as expensive as the downtown Boston Steakhouses but I thought it was quite good the one time I was there.

You should try Fava Restaurant in Needham. You can rent out the whole restaurant to have to yourselves. They will work with you on whatever menu you are looking for. My husband and I eat there all the time. The food is delicious and the service is great. Good luck.
