I'm dismayed and shocked that I like a supermarket bread so much. Yes, it has all the junk all the other breads have ... preservatives and hfcs.

However, it has this great texture that is denser than most supermarket breads. It reminds me of the old Pepperidge Farm daffodil bread.

And the taste is good.

I've so far tried
- Sara Lee Classic Wheat Bread
- Sara Lee Honey White Bread
- Sara Lee Soft & Smooth made with Whole Grain White Bread

To try to redeem some of my chowhound credentials, the bagels are awful ... way too soft and bready.

Sure the bread from my local artisan baker is much, much better. But there's times I can't get to the bakery. Out of all the supermarket breads, I'm liking Sara Lee the best.

Nobody doesn't like Sara Lee ...eh?

The Sara Lee wheat bread, in particular the honey iirc was at least relatively low in sugar and calories, and high in fiber. I always thought it tasted fine although I'm not real picky about bread.

I like Sara Lee bread too. I like the whole wheat for sandwiches, and I like the blueberry to toast for breakfast and smear honey nut cream cheese on.

Sara Lee Honey Wheat is by far my fave. So soft and wheaty. Also their hot dog buns are in a class by themselves. My adjective to describe them is "golden-ish". So good.
