West Village Italian

Hello, and thanks in advance for the help. I have family coming in from Alabama who once upon a time, as children, were Brooklyn Italian. They long for a homey place, that will seat 7, for an early Saturday dinner. The food's got to be good, but doesn't have to be inventive. Old style atmosphere would count for a lot, but a bald tourist trap would not do. West Village is best, or close. Ideas, anyone?

Thanks -

Royce

  1. Da Andrea. It's small, but I think they can seat 7 (I've definitely been there with a group of 6).

Da Andrea is great, as is Piccolo Angelo.

        da andrea
        piccolo angolo
        morandi
bellavitae (central village) off of 6th ave

    2. Crispo on 14th (btw 7th and 8th Ave) has delicious Italian food and cozy ambiance. You can look up their menu and decor on their website:

      1. Crispo and Po are my favorites. Da Andrea, Piccolo Angolo, and Bellavitae are also good recs. I've heard good reports about Gonzo and Valdino West but have yet to try either.
