What to use for Port wine with a lamb dish

any recs? Could I use vin santo or sherry?

    I would use Ruby Port which you can get at a good grocery store.

      I'd use red wine before I used vin santo or sherry.

        Why not just buy a bottle of Port to keep for cooking? It seems to last forever.

            In this braised lamb dish, an inexpensive ruby port is called for. Look for a something
            like Sandeman's and you'll be fine. An opened bottle keeps for quite a while, so
            serve it for dessert with some blue cheese (Stilton is the classic) and toasted walnuts, or with some chocolate-covered (or cocoa-dusted) almonds.
