Tapas on west side in 30's/40's

annie219 Apr 18, 2007 07:59 AM

Looking for a tapas or cuban on the west side from high 20's to low 40's. Attending a concert at madison square garden and need to stick within the area. Any suggestions?

Havana Chelsea might work, though it's a little further south than you want.

Tintol Tapas on W. 45 or 46 is very nice.

Must it be tapas? I'm going to MSG tonight and I'm thrilled that I get to go to 32nd St for Korean BBQ.

It's not exotic (no tapas, not Cuban) by any stretch, but Stout across from MSG is not bad at all. They serve very good beer and good bar food in a pleasant atmosphere. Plus you can't beat it for convenience.

I should add that if you are set on tapas, I like Boqueria on 19th near 6th Ave. It's not exactly close, but I've made the walk from there to MSG pretty frequently and it's not as bad as it could be.

Also, although not a tapas place, Toledo is a wonderful Spanish restaurant on 36th between 5th and Madison. It's not cheap, and it's not informal, but it is good.
